Magellan 2

It’s come to my attention that my only real Decal plugin project, Magellan 2, is no longer working. This is no great surprise, as the changes implemented in Decal 3 have broken all plugins. Because of this, people have asked if it an d when it’s going to be fixed.

Unfortunately, the answer from me is “Probably never”. My reasons are…

  1. I no longer have an AC account, nor the will to pay for one.
  2. The changes needed to simply bludgeon the old version back to life would take a good few hours. If I were going to do anything, I’d rather fix things properly.
  3. I’m currently insanely busy.
  4. Decal 3 isn’t finished yet.

Whilst I’d like to fix it (it was an interesting little puzzle), these problems seem to indicate Magellan 2’s demise for the immediate future. The 3rd is also the reason my posting rate has fallen off again – I shall, however, try and correct that as soon as possible.

    Alas for Magellan 2!

    What a great plugin it was. Many, many, thanks to you for the hours of enjoyment that your plug-in added to my life. While I was paralysed and totally bed-ridden I played A/C for untold hours to keep my sanity. I’m able to walk again now but haven’t given up on A/C. I had high hopes for seeing Magellan 2 again - especially since I could actually afford to send a few dollars

    One thing is certain, I understand the word “busy”! Much luck to you in future endeavors.

    Magellan 2 was one of only two plugins (the other being one-touch-healing) that I really depended on while I played AC. I, too, would be more than willing to help defray some of the costs that might be involved if you might ever have the time to rewrite it. But boy do I know what no time is like. If a sincere “please” and admiration for something I can’t do would help sway you a little, then you have it.

    Thanks, now that I have a recipient, for Magellan2 and all the “lives” it saved and the more enjoyable it made my gameplay without unfairly compromising it.

    I have used Magellan 2 longer then any other plugin. If you ever find the time and will to re-work there wold be many happy users :)
    Here’s to hoping you are able to get to it sometime.
